Each age has its advantages and its capabilities. And it depends only on us how we use it.
Life is not that long. At 20, it seems like an eternity lies ahead. But you do not even have time to blink an eye, as you are already 40, and half of what 20 years ago considered easy and natural is no longer available. Therefore, some things are better not to put off.
1. Think of yourself
No one will do it for you. Youth is the best time to fulfill your desires. Then you will have so many responsibilities and urgent matters that will not be before that.
2. Enjoy the simple things
Walk more. Read great books for which there is still time. Chat with friends just like that, not for any purpose. And appreciate those moments that now seem natural to you, and then become unimaginable luxuries.
3. Hike
Meet the dawn in the mountains, taste all the oceans, ski. Feel the beauty of nature and the real dimensions of the globe.
4. Understand who you are
Each person is unique and has its own strengths and weaknesses. The sooner you recognize them, the easier your life will be. Be proud of who you are and don’t be afraid to show it to the world.
5. Learn to focus on the present
This is one of the most important skills that will help you enjoy life. We cannot change the past, we cannot completely control the future, so let’s focus on what surrounds us here and now.
6. Stop worrying about what people think of you
Too painful attitude to the opinions of others is one of the signs of youth. Over time, you will gain protective armor, but it is better to develop resistance early.
7. Become a positive person
Young people have a positive outlook on the world, but then it often changes. Try to remember and keep this feeling. Your success will depend on your attitude to life, and it is better that it remains optimistic.
8. Get rid of negative relationships
In youth, we easily converge with people and just as easily disagree. This is much more difficult to do with age. Therefore, it is best to remove from your environment those who have a depressing, irritating and generally negative effect on you.
9. Travel
Many want to go on a trip, but puts it off until later — when they get to their feet. But then we get a family, children, work, and it becomes not the time for fun trips. So go now.
10. Learn a foreign language
Learning another language is like discovering another world. This skill can expand your capabilities and even change your life. Do not put it off until later: every year new knowledge is given more and more difficult.
11. Experiment
Youth is the best time for experimentation. What now seems commonplace at an older age can be perceived as complete insanity. And it’s not just about purple hair and tattoos.
12. Create your inner circle
Each of us has people to rely on in difficult times. As a rule, these are family and friends. And if we do not choose relatives, then the quantity and quality of friendly relations depend only on us.
13. Learn
Teenagers think they know everything in the world. And only having matured, you understand that you know practically nothing. Therefore, it is so important from a young age to learn something new every day. This skill will later help you out more than once.
14. Develop good habits
Your life is very dependent on habits that have developed in your youth. Then it will be very difficult for you to get rid of the harmful and find useful ones. So take care of this early.
15. Find your calling
In Japan, this is called the beautiful word “Ikigai“. The sooner you think about your calling, the more success you can achieve and the happier your life will be. By and large, all the stories of unfortunate people are stories of lost or not found meaning.
16. Go in for sports
This is really helpful. While we are young and healthy, we do not see the need for exercise. And when she appears over the years, getting in shape is much more difficult. Do not run yourself.
It is never too late to start doing the right thing, but some of them are easier to give exactly in youth. Do not waste time, your life directly depends on it. Act!
